CANDLE CARE

Wick Trimming

It’s important to trim wick before every use (1/4) allowing flame to have a clearer and brighter burn. Also keeping them shorter will lead to a cleaner burn every time. Trim enough to stand above base but short enough to eliminate any build up from previous burn

Candle Soot

Soot is the black carbon particles that form during the burning of candles, a known pollutant. Always trim you wick before each use as stated above and never leave a candle burning more than 4 hours. Please never ever leave a candle unattended around children or pets. Check bottom of products for more safety tips and warnings.

Tunneling

There're a few reasons a candle will begin to tunnel, for example if a wick is too small for a vessel this could happen and that is indeed a manufacturing defect, but in a properly poured and tested candle most if not all the time it is usually due to not allowing candle to completely liquefy to the edges of the vessel. It is strongly recommended that you at least burn your candle 3-4 hours before you put it out to allow this process and avoid this commonly made mistake.

SAFTEY TIPS

No one wants to experience a fire of any kind but in the event that you do indeed experience a candle fire, these are just a few of the safety measures I recommend when using candles - use your best judgement and be safe!

                          Don’ts

  • Never leave candle unattended once lit.

  • Never use water to put out candle fire.

  • Never place cloth material or candle lid over candle fire. Some clothes are made from flammable materials and some lids have rubber lining in them.

  • Never try to remove candle if it’s on fire, this can further complicate things and maximize the fire or possibly injure you or someone else.

  • Never burn candle down to the bottom of vessel, this can cause the glass/Container to become extremely hot and crack/explode! When it's only 1/4" of wax left it's time to say bye-bye baby. lol

  • Never place candle on uneven surfaces, on or near cloth items or close to any flammable items.

                              Do’s

  • Keeping baking soda nearby can help with small candle fires.

  • Invest in a fire blanket, it can also put out small candle fires.

  • Invest in a dry chemical fire extinguisher.

  • Once fire is put out open nearby windows and turn on fans to reduce smoke and possibly save your walls from any blackening the fire can possibly cause.

  • Remember the safest way to avoid any candle fires is to NEVER LEAVE CANDLES OF ANY KIND UNATTENDED, that way if you notice any possible signs of a fire, you can quickly and effectively put out flame before it gets out of control. Any candle of any kind can become dangerous whether it’s from a small business owner like myself or a well-known candle company. Never let your guard down when it comes to you and your loved one's safety, always stay on point.
